Cassius Clay Jr./Muhammad Ali - professional boxer, 9 WBA championships. philanthropist and social activist. Lew Alcindor/Kareem Abdul-Jabbar - professional basketball player 6 time NBA champion, All-time NBA scorer, actor, independent and outspoken thinker. These three dominated their sports with hard work, talent, and integrity.  More importantly, they transcended sports taking stands on racism, war, and justice at the expense of their status and, in the case of Muhammad Ali, his title and 4 years of his career. The trio of great men were/are idolized, but often vilified for their beliefs and their willingness to use their popularity to speak out about what they cared about. RESPECT.
